7 March 08 - a Dark Sunny Day

The rain finally stopped, having rained for the past 4 mornings. How nice to see the sun up high again, bringing vibrancy and feel of positiveness to the Land. But it was overshadowed by a sad news that was made known to me by late morning.

Was busy on my desk typing a report wheni received an sms from wife, telling me that her colleague had just finished her medical appt at Hospital for nose bleed, and was told by the attending doctor that she have a tumour in her nose and it could be cancerous. Straight upon reading that sms, the images of her colleague and her hubby and two kids kept appearing in my mind. I could not help but feel for them all. I mean it was over a year ago when all of us were together on a tour organised by their company and we were all about the same age.

This news reminds me again of how unpredictable life is. Why tragic events have to occur when a person is at his most blissful period of his life. People said things are fated, but why is Fate so cruel with Its sequence of events.

It makes me realise also that life is too short to harp on all the unhappy issues. Learn to forgive and forget, yes, i shall forgive all the ill-mannered drivers who annoyed me every day.

And to my wife's colleague and her family, i hope they be strong and they shall overcome....for the rays of happiness will shine upon them after scaling the mountain of obstacle. Jiayou!

The two little piglets, fast approaching their 1st birthday...how time flies, it seems like yesterday then they were born.... :)

6 March 08

6 March 08 - another rainy day......kaoz, its been raining for the whole of this week's mornings. Why, when i am doing office hours this whole week....no thanks to the stupid silent mobilisation.

At about 5plus in the evening picked up wife and then to cantonment to pick up Anthony for dinner. He suggested going to Blk 95 Lor 4 Toa Payoh to try out a new shop 'Tim' Restaurant'. Anthony had a sausage platter while wife had chicken with sausage n i had a big plate of 'meat lover set' consisting of lamb, pork and chicken chops. We ordered another extra set og lobster with tenderloin for sharing. as we topped up $2.80 each, we got for each of us a soup of the day, dessert, and cup of tea. We also ordered another calamari as appetizer.

Bill comes up to abt $75 which i feel is okay.

After dinner went to pick Jovial home.

1st March 08

Was on my way to office this morning when received a call from my colleague Muru, telling me that I do not have to go for work today as some of the boys' activities that comes under my purview were cancelled today due to heavy rain.

Ya...was happy that i got an off for today. Quickly called wife and Anthony to go for breakfast. Went Beach Road Army market to buy a pair of zipper boots for my upcoming reservist. Haiz, why cant they just let me off...i hate this reservist shite....

After that went to one of the hdb block beside the market for breakfast. Was told by Anthony that the prawn mee at that said coffeeshop was the famous Long House Prawn Mee shifted from another nearby location. Ok worth a try i was thinking to myself. Verdict?? Unremarkable.

After our breakfast went to Tampines Giant for some shopping and decided to do some cooking for tonight's dinner. Menu for tonight's dinner:

Thai red curry, thai green curry

Peanut soup with lotus roots

Steamed eggs with minced meat

29Feb08 - staff meeting

Today's my off day, yet still got to go back office for staff meeting followed by staff dinner. This time round we had it at Jurong Superbowl side. The name of the Indonesian restaurant is Pagi Sore.

The food's decent but nothing to shout about. A dinner for 12 of us comes up to about $419...kaoz...luckily heart not pain cos its from staff welfare fund....ha
